A metal suitcase (1) consisting of two suitcase halves (2, 4), each of which has a broad side (6a, 6b), two facing narrow sides (8a, 8b), a top surface (10a, 10b) and a standing surface (12a, 12b), where in the closed position the suitcase halves (2, 4) fit together along a frame line (22) running through the narrow side (8a, 8b), the top surface (10a, 10b) and the standing surface (12a, 12b), the suitcase halves being joined together with hinges on the standing surface (12a, 12b), is disclosed where each suitcase half (2, 4) is formed from two single-piece panel elements (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b), the first panel element (14a, 14b) is made of a striated continuous-cast profile with a panel enclosure profile (18) formed on one longitudinal edge and a frame profile (20, 21) formed on the opposite longitudinal edge, and the second panel element (16a, 16b) consists of a sheet metal plate.
