The reading aid consists of a fixture (1) at the bed (2) head end and consisting of a tube (7) with a fixture strip (8) at the bottom end, for fastening to the head-board (9) or to the tubular bed (11) with the aid of a wall clamp (10). The top end has a plate (12) holding an adjustable guide tube (13). A two-armed link gear (3) consists of one arm (20) with two parallel tubes (14), friction discs (17), and wing nut (19). One end of the arm has an adjustable guide tube (13), the other end has a control (16). A second arm (21) has a tube (15) at the end of which is a ball and socket joint (18) holding a book-rest (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Different sized books can be read without effort by a reclining person, and the page marked during a pause in reading.
