The separator housing has a material inlet (11) at the top for the mix (1), a spreader disk (6) driven by a motor (21), and an outlet (12) for the purified granulate (18) at the bottom. Gas flows through the separator against the direction of the falling mix and escapes together with the fine particles through gas outlet (7). In the region of the material inlet are hinged guide plates (15) and a grill (2) which retain large particles such as a fibrous ball. Above the spreader disk (7) is a hood (16) in the form of a truncated cone with a top opening (17) into which the mix falls. At the bottom there is gap (8) between the hood and separator disk of 8 to 15 mm through which the granulate is flung against a deflector plate (10) to release the fine particles. USE/ADVANTAGE - Large and fine particles are removed from a mixture of granular material in one process.
