Mfg. two-part surgical instrument, with blank cut into two parts - form required contours in blank during dividing by cutter

In the mfr. of a two-part surgical instrument, a blank (3) is divided by a cutter (4), which also forms required contours. Pref. the blank and/or the cutter are rotated during the blank dividing. The blank and/or the cutter are first rotated through 90 deg. in end region, and through further 90 deg. in the same direction behind a straight end face. Prior to dividing the blank may be subjected to outside machining. A wire erosion machine may be used for the cutting and/or outside machining. The movable cutter has an allocated turntable (2) for holding at least one blank. USE/ADVANTAGE - For needle holders, endoscopic forceps, tweezers etc., with simple mfg. process.
