Wet sand is held under water pressure in a sealed hopper (10) with an outlet (14) to a mixture hose (16) connecting to a nozzle hose (18). Near the top of the hopper is connected a pipe (52) supplying water under pressure from an air powered membrane pump (30). In the pipe is an adjustable three-way valve (50) with a branch (54,56) carrying a proportion of the water from the pump to a point just above the outlet (14) of the hopper. Connected to an injector (44) in the branch (54,56) is a container (40) from which is sucked a corrosion inhibiting additive to the water. ADVANTAGE - Simple, low-cost system not requiring pressurised container. Dosage and supply of additive is easily controlled.
