The gearbox (1) has units arranged such that with a worm drive unit stationary, force transfer occurs via toothed segment gears over the driveshafts to the gearing, having adjustable inequality of rotary movement. The first toothed segment meshes with a second toothed segment, which meshes to the self locking worm drive. The worm carrier transfers force to the driveshafts, such that the difference in rotary speed between drive and driven shafts at the second toothed segment is balanced out when the two toothed segments are not meshing. The toothed segments of each of the units mesh at the same angular point and are arranged such that they mesh either at maximum or at minimum rotation of the gearing with adjustable inequality of rotary movement. ADVANTAGE - The operating characteristics match those of traditional, positive drive toothed gearbox.
