926,771. Endless conveyers. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. July 18, 1961 [Sept. 8, 1960], No. 31020/60. Class 78 (1). Cartons are removed from the bottom of a die 1, Fig. 1, by an extractor 4 which deposits the cartons on supports 15, 16, Fig. 2, from which position they are pushed on to an endless conveyer 19 by an arm 17 which returns to the position shown in Fig. 2, after the extractor 4 has moved upwards again towards the die 1. The cartons are withdrawn from the die by suction members 3 mounted on a carriage 6 reciprocated by a cam and link mechanism. The pusher arms 17 are supported by rods 21 which move in paths exterior to the paths of the extractors 4 so that the extractors may be raised before the pushers are withdrawn. In a second embodiment, Fig. 5, the supports 15, 16 are mounted on a platform 27 hinged to a supporting member 29 which platform, in the event of a carton being jammed between the extractor 4 and the supports 15, 16, operates switch 32 to stop the machine. |
