The plug (11) has a contact bushing (37) in each of several chambers (33) for a single wire (41) of the cable (42) with an individual seal (43), behind which a resilient plastic ring (51) is moulded or bonded with a U-shaped cross-section. The inner section (53) of the ring and the base (21) of a box-shaped extension (14) of the plug body constitute an inflexible joint between the cable sheath (44) and the interior wall (46) of the body, against which the outer section (54) is pressed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Pref. in diesel-engined vehicles subject to oscillatory acceleration. Connection is reliable even under severe vibrational stress.
