A roller (10) is partly held in a partially cylindrical region of the cup floor (8) formed as a longitudinal section of the tappet. The valve contains a channel (18) in a cover of the piston (9) and a radial, spring-loaded slotted circular band (19) subject to pressure and held secure against axial movement. The circular band gives pressure-independent access to and acts as a cover for the channel. The return valve (18,19) is arranged on a chamber formed by a ring type recess (17) on the piston. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in a combustion engine. Takes up very little space and is capable through simple measures of adaption to any particular tappet application.
