Appts. for prodn. of dispersions for cosmetic, pharmaceutical use etc. - uses high pressure extrusion through membrane filters

The appts. produces dispersion materials by high pressure extrusion through suitable filter materials. Pref. high differential pressure are achieved at the filter membrane through high pressure pumps. The membrane filter discs have different dia. and pore sizes. The membrane filters are made of polycarbonate or polyester and, on a continuous operation, large quantities of dispersion can be produced. All the components in contact with the materials can be sterilised. Dispersions of a non-water nature can also be produced. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system gives a continuous filtration through recirculation of the filtrate and increased filtration pressures at 1-80 MPa and pref. 3-25 MPa, to give concentrated dispersions at high filtrate flows.
