The electric heater has a hollow closing bush (4) in the tube (1) end which encircles a terminal stud (3) connecting with the magnesium oxide insulated (2) heating element. The bush (4) is moulded with three projecting ribs in its bore matched to the stud (3) diameter leaving three corresp. cavities (8) which connect the space (11) in the conical interior of the skirt (10) with the counterbore (14). A secure mechanical anchorage/seal is achieved during assembly by introducing a suitable quantity of cold-setting silicone rubber (6) to the tube end when insertion of the bush (4) to the stop-face (5) causes the rubber (6) to flow via the cavities (8) to the counterbore (14) and harden to form a robust seal. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides improved mechanical jointing and sealing of tube/bush/stud assembly. Air bubbles are efficiently ejected by pressure induced during insertion of bush.
