The work rest consists of a baseplate (10) with slots (13,14) machined into the narrow side to produce raised platforms (12). On the platforms is an inclined fixing surface (16) for interchangeable pads (11) supporting the workpiece. Sunk into a recess (26) in the face (29) of the pad is a fastening screw (19) entering the baseplate. In a further development of the system the work support pads (11) are screwed onto a carrier piece which can be finely adjusted for height on the baseplate. USE/ADVANTAGE - Modular work rest for centreless grinding machine. Pads can easily be replaced after wear or damage. Pad geometry can be varied. Pads are easily produced and ground. System is highly flexible.
