The system contains a driver's cab fitted with a coupling profile for assembly of sandwiched assembly panels. Thus the cab, on connection of the panels, forms an enclosed vehicle body, which can be varied according to the required vehicle function by using different vehicle panels. The cross-section for the coupling profile is pref. integrated in a shaped member, forming part of the driver's cab. In the region of the B-column, the vehicle typically contains a U-shaped frame bracket, to which the front safety belts are joined.
