The elastomeric sealing ring is solid and consists of a main seal which is harder than the preliminary seal positioned between the main seal and the sleeve surface. Part of the preliminary seal is in the form of a core-casing system, in which the core material is less hard than the casing material. Open or closed cell plastics is used as non rigid material near the preliminary seal. The proportion of non rigid material is 40 to 50% of the whole sealing ring. USE/ADVANTAGE - The sleeve connection is esp. for use in constructing channels and incorporates a sealing ring.
