<p>PURPOSE:To improve dimensional accuracy and regenerating function of a honeycomb filter by forming a temporary plug portion in a heater, inserting the plug portion in a cell, inserting a wire materiel between the plug portion and the cell wall, and securing the heater in the cell. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacturing, a heater 21 made of a nichrome wire is bent in a U-shape corresponding to a specific cell. A preparatory plug portion 22 of a cylindrical shape is formed on the wire by dipping the wire in a heat- resistant cement slurry such as silica of high viscosity and moving it up and down. A cell with out incorporating the heater 21 of a honeycomb filter 23 is filled with a resin. The preparatory plug portion 22 is inserted in a cell which is not filled with the resin. After the honeycomb filter 23 is dipped in a silica of low viscosity or the like with the heater placed below it, it is pulled out and a column material (heat resistant cement) 24 is injected between the preparatory plug portion 22 and the cell wall.</p> |
