Method and apparatus for bending glass sheets.

Process for bending and optionally quenching glass sheets, according to which a glass sheet travels successively on a delivering conveyor leaving a furnace, on a central conveyor consisting of a series of rotating components arranged in a curved profile, and on a cooling conveyor, one of these conveyors being displaced during the travel of a glass sheet. This displacement is effected so that the glass sheet follows a continuous path while passing successively over these conveyors and that the angle formed by the tangent at the exit end of the cooling conveyor at the time when a glass sheet leaves and the horizontal forms an angle of not more than 90@. The invention also proposes a plant for making use of the process. <IMAGE>
