The unit comprises a control element (1) adapted to assume four positions along a first axis (S-S), each of which corresponds to the selection of a gear, and to assume three angular positions on planes perpendicular to the above-mentioned axis, each of which corresponds to the engaging of a gear or the neutral position; the unit is characterized in that it comprises a first bar (8) which moves along the first axis, rotates about it, and to which the control element is fixed, a second bar which moves along a second axis (i-i) perpendicular to the first; the second bar comprises a section of a rack (10) and the control element is equipped with a gear wheel sector (11) which engages with the rack so as to drive, by translating the second bar (9) along its axis, the rotation of the control element. |
