PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricating oil excellent in compatibility with a halogen compound refrigerant, e.g. HFC-134a serving as dichlorodifluoromethane substitute and in lubricity, thermal stability, nonhygroscopicity, electrical insulating properties and hydrolysis resistance. CONSTITUTION:This lubricating oil is a lubricating oil for a refrigerator using 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a) as the refrigerant, made from a base oil comprising an ester of a 5-15C neopentyl polyol with a 4-11C saturated monobasic fatty acid having at least one branched 1-3C alkyl group on the carbon atoms at the alpha- and/or beta-position relative to the carboxyl group. |
