PURPOSE:To prevent an ink ribbon whose print density is below a specified level from being used by providing a means for printing a test pattern which prints a test pattern previously set on recording sheet using ink in an incorporated multi-pass ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:A previously set test pattern is printed on a recording sheet using ink in an incorporated multi-pass ink ribbon 26 with the help of a thermal head 2 before printing desired image information. Consequently, it is possible to prevent defective printing as an ink ribbon whose print density is below a specified level can be prevented from being used. |
