PURIFICATION OF ANTIGEN PROTEIN SPECIFIC TO NON-A, NON-B HEPATITIS

PURPOSE:To readily and efficiently obtain the subject protein of high purity useful as a reagent for clinical analysis of non-A, non-B hepatitis only by one purification, by purifying a solution containing an antigen protein specific to non-A, non-B hepatitis using Phenyl-Sepharose(R) as a carrier. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing an antigen protein (preferably an antigen protein obtained by gene recombination) specific to non-A, non-B hepatitis is brought into contact with Phenyl-Sepharose(R) or Octyl-Sepharose(R) as carrier so as to adsorb other excessive proteins onto the carrier. Thereby, the objective protein can be obtained from a fraction passing through without being absorbed.
