The process consists in representing a three-dimensional model of the decorated object through a plot of the decoration. It consists in next locating on the object, using the 3D model, at least certain points characteristic of the said plot so as to position, for example, adhesive strips for demarcating the decoration or stencils, or precut decorative elements, etc. The invention applies in particular to the decorating of an aircraft with distinctive logos, letters or signs on the external surface of this aircraft.
