MEASURING METHOD OF ROLL DISPLACEMENT DURING CONTINUOUS CASTING AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE:To eliminate errors produced owing to thermal effect and measrue the roll displacements during continuous casting with good accuracy by letting the wire rod installed in the lengthwise direction of the roll to be measured by being given tension be a reference. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod (or wire rope) 3 is stretched between the frames 2, 2 which support the rolls 1 of the continuous casting machine while fixed tension is being given by a spring 4, in the lengthwise direction of the rolls 1 and this wire rod 3 is used as a reference point. A non-contact type detector 5 is mounted to this to measure the displacements of the rolls 1.
