PURPOSE: To reduce the number of webs running into one folding machine and to enable a short web distance by obtaining signature flows from multilayered signatures in a partial rotary press having cyclically operated first and second folding machines and combining the signatures of the first and second signature flows by an insert drum cyclically driven along with the partial rotary press. CONSTITUTION: For example, six web part rotary presses 1, 2 having folding machines 4, 5 and an insert drum 14 are connected to a longitudinal shaft 3 to be driven. In a case producing 70,000 products/hr, the partial rotary press 1 having the folding machine 4 prints 48 pages at intervals of two pages to fold them to form signatures 70,000/h. That is, web width or the number of webs is reduced and, when a vertical folding former 6 is used, 48, 46... are obtained by two layers. This process is also adapted to the partial rotary press 2 having the folding machine 5 in the same way. The insert drum 14 integrates the signature flows 19, 21 of the folding machines 4, 5 to a product 26 of 96 pages at intervals of two pages to guide the same to a delivery chamber. Products 26 twice 96 pages comprise four layers by the use of formers 6, 7. |
