PURPOSE:To improve the stability of quality by incorporating a material contained in a compact, constituting a Bi layer compd. and vaporized in sintering into a pad material, arranging the compact and pad material out of contact with each other in a closed vessel and sintering the compact and pad material. CONSTITUTION:The raw powders of PbO, Bi2O3, TiO2 and Na2CO3 in a specified molar ratio and 0.1wt.% of MnO are wet-mixed, the mixed powder is freed from a solvent, dried, calcined at a specified temp. and crushed to prepare a calcined powder. An appropriate amt. of such a binder as PP is added to the calcined powder, and the obtained material is press-formed to obtain a pelleted compact 2. The compact 2 and a pad material 3 consisting of the calcined powder are arranged in a closed Al2O3 vessel 1, separated from each other by an Al2O3 partition 10 and sintered at 1100-1300 deg.C to obtain a Bi layer compd. sintered compact of (Pb0.8Na0.1Bi4.1)Ti4O15, etc., and having a density of about 95% of the theoretical density. |
