<p>PURPOSE: To control the intensity level of an exposure device so that desired pixel densities are arranged on an image recording medium consistently by providing even-number and odd-number channel circuits controlling the intensity level of the exposure device during the exposure of respective pixels in a printing apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The count signal generated in an even-number channel counter 10 along with the desired printing density given from a printing apparatus is applied to the even-number channel comparator 14 in an even-number channel circuit 4. In the same way, the count signal generated in an odd-number channel counter 12 is applied to the odd-number channel comparator 16 in an add-number channel circuit 6. The respective comparators 14, 16 generate comparator signals showing the exposure or non-exposure time of the specific pixel on an image recording medium in a width of 10 bits. The comparator signals are generated when the values of the count signals show the values of desired printing densities and the desired printing densities are the logarithmic function of exposure approximately and, as a substitute, they are the logarithmic functions of the count signals generated by the counters 10, 12.</p> |
