PURPOSE:To improve safety at the time of light collision by forming a plural number of inclined parts inclined in the downward direction free to move downward against load from above an instrument panel on an air bag installation panel. CONSTITUTION:On a lower surface part 3b of an air bag unit 3, an installation bracket 7 with a first inclined part 7a formed by bending one end of a sheet of a rectangular iron plate or others roughly in an L shape on it is provided. A part in the neighbourhood of an end part on the opposite side of the first inclined part 7a of this installation bracket 7 is cut off except for one side, and a second inclined part 7b is formed by cutting and bending the cut off part roughly in an L shape. By inclining these inclined parts 7a, 7b so that they move in the same direction by load from above and deforming them linked with each other, the air bag unit 3 is allowed to move downward by load. Thereafter, the air bag unit 3 is installed by a support bracket 5 of a steering support member 4 through this installation bracket 7. |
