PURPOSE:To enable any appropriate step to be taken easily to deal with different specifications by incorporating test prints of different designs in the storage part of a recording device then allowing an ID which indicates the specifications of a finished product on NVRAM inside the finished product, and providing a function to output the test print of a designed based on the ID. CONSTITUTION:A storage means 5 stores data equal to sheets for forming a test print image with different contents. In addition, a means 7 for non-volatile storage stores information for selection of a test print image with a specified content based on said sheets of test print image. In addition, a means 4 for forming an image retrieves data on the test print image with the specified content selected based on information from the means 7 for non-volatile storage to form an image. Then, a printing means 3 prints a test print image formed by the means 4 for forming an image. Consequently, it is possible to obtain a recording means with test print function which is capable of dealing with different specifications easily. |
