PURPOSE:To appropriately control the tightening torque capacity over the whole speed change range by controlling the torque capacity in the speed change of the friction tightening element to control the switching from a stepped transmission passage to a stepless transmission passage through the hydraulic pressure corresponding to the input torque and the speed change ratio. CONSTITUTION:A high clutch 60, i.e., the friction tightening element is tightened in order to switch from a stepped transmission passage provided with a stepped speed change mechanism to the power transmitting condition through a V-belt type stepless speed change mechanism of a stepless transmission passage. As a result, when a speed change control valve is actuated, the hydraulic pressure of the oil passage 210 is supplied to the high clutch 60 through a neutral valve 124. The oil passage 232 connected to the high clutch 60 is connected to an working pressure chamber 204 of a high clutch accumulator 129, and the hydraulic pressure of the high clutch 60 is adjusted by the stroke of a piston 200. The stroke of the piston 200 corresponds to the line pressure to be applied on the back pressure chamber 206, and the higher this line pressure is, the higher the tightening hydraulic pressure of the high clutch 60 is. |
