The apparatus has a sand pump for sucking water and sand mixture and separating the mixture into water, sand and slurry in order to prevent contamination of the river when collecting aggregate sand. The apparatus comprises tanks (1)(1') installed on a barge ship or the land; a sand pump (13) connected with the tanks (1)(1') via tube (14); filtering plates (5)(5') between sand accumulating chambers (15) and water chambers (6)(6') provided in the tanks; slurry filtering chambers (8) connected with drain pipes (7) on the chambers (6)(6'); screw conveyors (3)(3') connected with sand discharge outlets (4)(4') on the chamber (15); driving sections (2)(2').
