METHOD FOR DECIDING AGE OF EACH STRATUM OF EARTH

PURPOSE: To decide the age of each stratum on the earth without time lag and/or uncertainty. CONSTITUTION: Inverted residual magnetism groups are detected by measuring residual magnetism along an exploration well drilled through geological beds. Then the maximum value of induction magnetization is detected by measuring induction magnetization and the ages of geological beds at different depths are decided from the correlation between the measured values and the data of the well-known geomnagnetism inverted times and the times at which global phenomena which condensed strongly magnetic materials. Therefore, this method can be applied to the exploration of petroleum.
