PURPOSE:To control an operation at the time of reproduction, and to use data as the preservation and management-information of a video by recording the data of the user and manufacturing person of a VTR with the digital signal of the video on the tape of the VTR. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a data inserting circuit 10 which inserts the digital data into a specific horizontal scanning period in the vertical blanking of a television signal. A system control part 7 operates the addition of the error correction code of the digital data, generates data indicating the attribute of the VTR, and data indicating each kind of condition at the time of recording, and outputs the data through a memory 9 to the data inserting circuit 10. Then, each kind of data is inserted into the vertical blanking period of a video signal by a gate pulse outputted by a gate signal generating circuit 11. Thus, the characteristic of the mechanism part of the VTR and the recording condition of the tape can be easily managed. |
