PURPOSE:To definitely recognize the exchange period of a replenishing means by displaying the information of a residual developer. CONSTITUTION:In this image forming device having a main body 2 forming an image on an image forming medium by using a developing means and the replenishing means capable of replenishing a developer to the developing means and being attached/detached, the replenishing means is provided with a communication means 74 capable of communicating information with respect to the main body 2 and a developer controlling means 75 composed of a storage part 72 storing a previously set developer limit quantity and a calculating part 73 obtaining residual developer information based on the developer limit quantity and the use quantity of the developer from the main body 2 sent via the communication means 74 and the main body 2 has a display means 18g displaying the residual developer information from the developer control means 75. In this constitution, the residual developer information is displayed on the display means 18g, the exchange period of the replenishing means is definitely recognized and operability is improved, so that the interruption of copying can be evaded in mass image formation. |
