<p>PURPOSE:To provide the 8X 8 discrete cosine transforming circuit (8X8DCT circuit) which is small in the frequency of multiplication and never decreases in calculation precision. CONSTITUTION:As for 8X8 DCT, [C]=1/2.[R] [Q] [X] can be defined between original input data [X] and output matrix data [C] as an equation obtained by decomposing a transformation matrix into factors. A matrix [Q] is a constant matrix including 0, 1, and -1 and a matrix (R) is a matrix including irrational numbers prescribed by the 8X 8DCT. The arithmetic of the constant matrix [Q] can be performed by addition and subtraction and only the arithmetic of the matrix (R) requires multiplication. An adding and subtracting circuit 2 performs the arithmetic of [X] and [Q] and a multiplying and adding circuit 4 performs the arithmetic of the arithmetic result of the adding and subtracting circuit 2 and (R). Further, 8X8IDCT is carried out reversely to 8X8DCT.</p> |
