<p>PURPOSE:To provide the light guide plate for surface lighting which is improved in light emissivity to generate neither a bright line nor a dark line and have uniform brightness and the surface type lighting fitting utilizing it. CONSTITUTION:A curved plane solid or hollow light guide is formed of a two-dimensional concave curved surface contacting some point of oblique sides at points at a distance 1/10 as long as the length of the oblique side parts CA and CE extending from the meeting point C between two right-angled triangles CBA and CDE which have bases on their mutual common base line and meet each other symmetrically at their acute angle parts and are in the same shape and of the same size to the apexes A and E and tangential planes or concave curved surfaces connecting with said two-dimensional concave curved plane, preferably, an arcuate plane or parabolic plane and tangential planes connecting with the plane. Then the surface type lighting fitting is formed by arranging a light reflecting material on one surface of the curved plane type solid or hollow light guide plate and a light scattering material on the other surface. The concave curved surface contacts the oblique side parts, preferably, at points at a distance 1/5-2/3 as long as the length of the oblique side parts. Those are suitably used as the back light of a liquid crystal television set, a lap-top type personal computer, etc.</p> |
