Reading equipment for supporting both an electrical screen terminal and books, papers or individual sheets of paper to make them easier to read while the reader is lying down, sitting or standing. The equipment consists of a stand 2 to which an adjustable arm 7, 9 is coupled, on which arm there is a securing device 23 whose position can be adjusted to different heights and to different inclinations. A reading surface 20 or a flat screen terminal can be connected to the securing device 23 and several adjustment movements of the arm 9, 23 of the reading equipment are possible, so that it can be locked and released using the same clamping/opening device 18. <IMAGE>
