PURPOSE:To provide the reader which can prevent a read error of a bar-code, with regard to the reader which can detect a joint of a scanning beam by a reflected light of a light reflecting body by providing the light reflecting body in a joint of plural pattern forming mirrors. CONSTITUTION:In the reader which is provided with a scanning part 10 for reflecting a radiant light of a light source 6 and generating a scanning beam, plural scanning pattern forming means 11 for forming scanning beam patterns in plural directions from the scanning beam, and a photodetecting means 14 for photodetecting a reflected light obtained by scanning a code 50 constituted of combination of different size of lines of different colors on an object 5 by the scanning beam pattern and converting it to an electric signal, and reads the code 50 from its electric signal, this reader is constituted so that a light reflecting body 15 which is provided in a connecting position of plural scanning pattern forming means 11, and reflects the scanning beam, and a detecting means 33 for detecting its reflected light are provided, and when a reflected light is detected in the electric signal of the code 50, the electric signal before the detection is invalidated. |
