PURPOSE:To change the display scale value of map information and to perform a scroll smoothly to the eye. CONSTITUTION:In an on-vehicle navigation system for storing the map information corresponding to the display scale values every plural kinds of the display scale values and displaying the map information corresponding to the display scale value instructed from the outside on a display screen, the map information for temporary display composed of a part of the map information is further stored at every map information corresponding to the display scale value. When it is instructed to change the display scale value of the map information displayed on the display screen or to scroll the map information displayed on the display screen, the map information for the temporary display corresponding to the map information following the instruction is displayed and then, the map information following the instruction is displayed. Thus, since the display scale value of the map information can be changed and scrolled smoothly to the eye, unpleasant feeling is not given to an user. |
