PURPOSE:To realize a high speed variable length code decoder without increasing a clock frequency. CONSTITUTION:A Huffman code decoder which restores a Huffman code into data, is equipped with a first decoder circuit 4 which restores a Huffman code at the head of a Huffman code column, and a second decoder circuit 8 which restores the continuous sequence of the two Huffman codes from the head of the Huffman code column. Then, two data can be restored by one time of decoder operation. |
