PURPOSE:To recognize a musical score through the small quantity of calculation, and to exactly attain the recognition of an event and the output of a musical sound by recognizing the musical score, a symbol, and their positions, etc., from picture data in which the continuation of pixel dots is erased. CONSTITUTION:The continuation of the pixel dots having a prescribed thickness corresponding to the thickness of the stave and in addition, lying along a recognized stave position is discriminated from the picture data after the correction of inclination. Next, the length of that continuation is discriminated at a point of time when it becomes not to meet the prescribed thickness while checking the thickness. Then, if the continuation if judged to be twice as long of longer as a stave space D, for instance, the continuation is erased. Namely, for instance, the continuation in the direction of X axis capable of being installed within the thickness D1 of 8 dots or so is tracked, and at the point of time (t) when the condition of the thickness becomes not to be satisfied, whether the length L1 of that continuation is 2D or more or not is judged, and if this condition is satisfied, the segment of a line (area of Ai) in this interval is erased while taking margins a little at both ends. |
