The sauna hut (10) contains a bench (11) and atmospheric controls (14) in addition to a loudspeaker combination (21) and/or motion-picture display screens (31,41). Lamps (33,43,45) are located on the wall and ceiling, and are connected by signal lines (51-53) to, e.g. an array of electrically programmable read-only memories (50) storing a number of acoustic and optical signal sequences. Visual diversions may also be provided in the floor (44) and overhead (47). The sequences may be paired to give, e.g. the appearances and sounds of raindrops on a window, waterfalls, birds in flight, trees moving in a breeze, etc. ADVANTAGE - User can relax and meditate with subjective influence on perception of environment, with sensation of well-being and without claustrophobia even in very small hut.
