In an exhaust gas cleaning assembly, salts and other residue are separated from the washing water in a heated container (2) within a second container (8) surrounded by channels (9,10). The channels at the base (11) of the container are connected to an exhaust gas feed (3), and those at the cover (27) are linked to an exhaust gas outlet (4). The container is supplied with a salts removing soln by a channel (5) through the cover (28) of the second container (8) through the covering zone (27). The container (2) is open at the top. The cover (28) for the second container (8) has guide plates (29) for the exhaust gas at the fluid surface (30). The feed channel (5) for the salts removal solution ends at the centre of the container (2). The second container (8) has twisting and laying members (12,13) to support the upright container (2), and distance and twisting plates (20,21) are at the inner wall (22) of the second container (8), over the height of the container (2), bearing against the outer wall (23) of the container (2), giving a spiral exhaust gas guide. The second container (8) has an outer thermal insulation (25). The twisting and laying members (12,13) forming the standing surface (14) for the container (2) give a central exhaust gas guide (15) with star pattern channels (17,18) leading to the container edge (16). The exhaust gas feed (3) and exhaust (4) are part of a bypass between the boiler and gas cleaner. A barrier sludge (33) in the feed (5) for the salt removal solution is linked to the level monitor (34) at the fluid surface (30). The separate dryer units (1) are assembled, in parallel, in a battery. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is for the removal of salts and other residue from exhaust gas washing water. The assembly gives an effective cleaning of the washing water with an evaporation system suitable for small plants.
