The invention concerns a method of manufacturing a double-weft double-plush woven fabric with tight ends (3a, 3b) located in the upper part and the lower part of the fabric, between the pile-side and rear-side weft yarns. The two weft yarns in the double-weft binding alternate in pairs, either both in the upper part or both in the lower part, in separate sheds. The dead yarn assemblies (6, 8) interlaced on the upper and lower parts of the fabric are protected from damage caused by the parts (17, 18) of the weft-insertion system which pass through the shed by virtue of the fact that each of the dead yarn assemblies is held or pinched between two superposed or adjacent tight end planes (3a, 3b). |
