The parking spaces are arranged on a multistorey basis in two opposite rows, whereby between the rows in each storey is a corridor provided with two lifting mechanisms each with a carriage which can be brought into work connection on the first floor with inlet and outlet sluices. On each storey in the corridor a carriage (5) is provided for putting vehicles away and a further carriage (6) for bring them out again. At one end of each corridor is a waiting place (7) for the carriage (5) for putting vehicles away and at the opposite end is a waiting place (17) for the carriage which brings vehicles out again. Near the waiting places (7,17) on both sides of the parking installation one of the lifting mechanisms (8,15) with a lift carriage (9) is provided, which can be positioned in front of each waiting place. USE/ADVANTAGE - A multistorey car park with rapid-acting system for putting vehicles away and bringing them out again.
