The open carton (2) which lies in front of a screen plate is filled with a row of products (4) and when filled slides down so that the filling process is started again. The cartons which are supplied previously folded are transferred from underneath by a suction strip (6). As they are moved crosswise through the strip the front carton lids (3) are unfolded by lever units so that they adjoin the loading screen. The back of the carton is fixed by a suitable wall plate (8). The loading screen and wall plate (8) can be adapted to different types of cartons by adjustors. The loading screen is shaped so that its screen face is slightly larger than the open carton end. The fixed carton can be lowered with the suction strip, screen face and rear wall plate stepwise to allow the sausage products (4) to be pushed in by an insert plate (9) to form different rows. The distance between product (4) and screen should be kept as small as possible to avoid uncontrolled filling. USE/ADVANTAGE - Controlled mechanical filling of packaging for sausages.
