Disclosed is a substantially hermetically sealed variable density ophthalmic device, preferably in the form of sunglasses or goggles. The device includes front and rear frame components (100A, 100C) which matingly fit and seal together. The polarized or retarder lenses (100B) include at least one pair of rotatable lenses. These lenses are preferably rotatable by a flexible strip (40) having a knob (44). A grommet (50) or boot (55) or the combination thereof seals the interface where the strip enters a frame component. |
