<p>In a three jaw chuck (5) the traditional chip guard is replaced by a stop guard (50) having internal threads. An extension tube (60) is threaded to the stop guard (50) forming an adjustable length cylinder. An idler (61) is optionally mounted inside the extension tube(s) (60) to stabilize the workpiece (81). A stop assembly (80) is screwed into either the stop guard (50) or the extension tube(s) (60). The stop assembly (80) has an adjustable threaded stop mount (104) enabling the positioning of the stop (105) at any position ranging from the jaw face (6) to the end of the last extension tube.</p> |
