A tubular support (20) for positioning about a body joint is made of closed-cell neoprene and has an opening (41) with an insert (42) therein of a thinner elastic material to provide breathability and avoid bunching when flexing the joint. The thinner material of the insert (42) is preferably attached to a frame (50) that is then secured in the opening (41) prior to forming the panel (22) into the tubular shape.
