摘要 The system uses a recognition code generated by the appropriate key which is transmitted to an IC within the lock for triggering an electromagnetic release mechanism to permit the key to rotate the normal bolt and cylinder mechanism of the lock manually. The key (40) is pre-programmed to activate a LED (44) which is coupled to the IC received stage (3) via a fibre-optic cable (1) axially located in the bolt (23). On key (40) insertion and signal recognition the IC (2) energises an electromagnet (4,5) via an internal battery (19) to couple the bolt (23) and cylinder (24) via a latching device (6,7,8,27,29) retained by a permanent magnet (7,8) to enable locking/unlocking via the nib (15). USE/ADVANTAGE - Is applicable to conventional lock without change to main dimensions. Battery life is prolonged by permanent magnet latch retention. Normal keyhole giving access to interior not required thereby increasing security.
