Appts. for removing a die cast product (9) from a tool comprises (i) a pair of opposing clamps (12,13) which move relative to each other to allow the product (9) to be positioned between them; (ii) gripper pads (18b) at the outer ends of the clamping arms (12,13) for holding the product (9); (iii) elastic support pads (18a), pref. of foamed silicone rubber with interconnecting cells (30), behind the gripper pads (18b). Pref., the hardness of the elastic pads (18a) is 5-15, according to SR15-0101. The gripper pads (18b) are 0.1-1 mm thick and mfd. in an unfoamed silicone rubber with high heat conductivity. The gripper pads (18b) form a single unit with the foamed pads (18a). USE/ADVANTAGE - For removing a die cast product, e.g. cassette housing, from a moulding tool. Permits rapid demoulding without product deformation.
