Ceramic green sheets are laminated on both faces of a glass-ceramic green sheet laminate to become the substrate, and the assemblage is fired in such a temperature range that the glass-ceramic powder in the laminate is sintered and the ceramic powder in the ceramic green sheet is not sintered, and the resultant substrate shrinks only in a thickwise direction during the firing while maintaining the original size in planar direction.
